BAY CITIES DISPLAYS RECOGNIZED AT WEST COAST POP SHOW

October 22, 2012-Los Angeles, CA-Bay Cities returned to Southern California with a number of awards from the West Coast POP Show (formerly known as the San Francisco POP Show), last month. Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) pronounced the winners of the 2012 West Coast POP Show which included thirteen displays designed and manufactured by Bay Cities. Awards included a 1st, 2nd, and five 3rd place finishes for displays representing Govino, Neuma, Nintendo, Magellan and Boost Mobile. The Nintendo Floor Display was especially recognized for Best Original Artwork in Show.
The 65th annual West Coast POP Show, sponsored by POPAI, was held at the Terra Gallery this year, and distinguishes the top point-of-purchase displays and retail packaging innovations on the West coast. Over 200 entries, in 23 categories were submitted including pieces representing clients such as Sony, Universal Pictures, Nintendo, Warner Brothers, Sephora and Disney. They were judged on quality, creativity, innovation, and the perceived ability to increase sales and make products enticing and memorable to consumers. The panel of judges was comprised of producers, brand marketers and retailers.
The contest consists of a showcase and awards ceremony featuring the most creative and dynamic POP and packaging executions sold, produced, or marketed on the West Coast. This contest is one of the most highly coveted honors that those in the POP industry can receive on the West Coast.
Bay Cities was awarded with nine awards total at the West Coast Show. Taking home 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze awards. The Govino Case Stacker was awarded with Gold in the specialty packaging/flexo direct print category, Chivas Boost Mobile Counter Display took Gold in the counter display/nonpermanent category, Boost Mobile-Mobile Display took Gold in the mobile, wire hangers, ceiling hangers category, Neuma Triangle Holder was awarded Silver in the specialty packaging/ flexo direct print category, Magellan Counter Display was awarded Silver in the Counter Display nonpermanent category, LG Floor Display was awarded Bronze in the free standing/nonpermanent category, Nintendo Coin Wall Display was awarded Bronze in the wall displays category, Nintendo Cube Display took Bronze in the interactive displays category, and finally the Nintendo Floor Display was awarded Gold in the free standing nonpermanent category, as well as recognized with Best Original Artwork in Show!
