Bay Cities relocates Midwest operations to Oak Forest with 200 employees

Bay Cities, a Los Angeles-area retail packaging and fulfillment company, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 9 to celebrate relocating its Midwest operations to Oak Forest.

the company signed a long-term lease with Logistics Property Co. for 233,000 square feet at 16799 S. Cicero Ave, where 200 employees will work.

Bay Cities relocated from Cicero, where it had occupied 323,000 square feet since 2018.

The Cicero facility was operated through a joint venture, according to Sahar Mehrabzadeh, chief revenue officer for Bay Cities.

“As our Business in the region continued to grow we made the strategic decision to transition into our own standalone operation while remaining in the Chicagoland area,” Mehrabzadeh told the Chicago Business Journal. “relocating to Oak Forest allows us to stay centrally to best support the brands and retailers we serve.”

Bay Cities selected Oak Forest property in part for its cross-dock location, Mehrabzadeh added. the building also 20 receiving and shipping dock doors, two ramp doors, more then 100,000 square feet of production space and an 8,2000-square-foot temperature- controlled room.
